African American Christian Novels

I'm in the final phase of my novel and I do not know where to start - Help please!?

I finished the novel 88,000 words, but now I must write a letter of consultation is not a page long, but only a little more. I wonder what size it should be the source? Then there's the synopsis, which I definitely am fighting, how to condense a complicated love story in five pages, double spaced? Finally, we try to find the right agent, ready to accept a novice. I'm anxious, nervous and stressed, so any pointers on how to go about getting these things would be appreciated. The novel is an African American Christian Romance, comments welcome.

The letter of request must be in any font suitable for a business letter. Format as a business letter, with single spacing. I use Times New Roman 12, usually. There no reason in the world to turn over a page, which is making the suggestion is a place of distrust. It includes the right to contact the agent or publisher to whom it is addressed, as the number of words in the novel, the genre, a summary of its plot, their qualifications, an author (if applicable - if not, go) and ends with his appreciation for their time and offer to send the manuscript. Some people open a "hook" but not necessary. If you send it by e-mail, enclose a self-addressed stamped (SASE). You should always visit an officer or guidelines to the editor, which contains exactly and only what is requested. Some do not want anything other than the SASE. Others agree that e-mail consultations. Some want to see a chapter or 20 pages, or professional biography. Identify agents that have recently sold other novels like owning. ( "New" means over the last two years or less.) Visit large bookstores. Note the titles, authors and publishers of books in its genre. Plug-and you try determine what the sales agent of each book. (Search for "Full Title" + agent. Also try "Author name" Agent +.) You can find other agents looking for a job in their way through "Writer's Market" and "Literary Marketplace" (USA) or "Writers 'and Artists' Yearbook (United Kingdom). See list of publishers, too, including "one official presentations" or not. (Maybe you do not even need an agent.) Search each agent. Find websites with the history of the race, sales, biography personal blogs, Twitter, membership of the AAR, etc. Decide if you prefer to mail or your email. Finding that a good choice for you. Do not be afraid to aim high. The worst that can happen is that say no. Your research should include a visit to Preditor and publishers. Personalize your consultation different actors on the basis of information obtained from research, and send a few players that you want to represent you. If the letter of request is really good and you've done your homework well, at least some will request a partial or complete manuscript. If not, rewrite the query before sending the next batch. Remember, agents reputable support anything the author in advance. Some agents may deduct the cost of doing business (copy, mail, phone) your first check, but not to the legitimate needs money to start. Edited to add: be "the last stage of my novel, "You mean you've finished your first draft? Even if you are very pleased with him, not looking for agent yet. writing deferred and polishing until it can be improved. This may take months or years. If you have just one complete novel you went in a couple of times, is not ready, although pretty damn good. Save it for three to six months, not a look, while you do your homework agents. You can point to have said, but literally can not read this. You'll be surprised to ideas to improve and win the gaps and weaknesses that fresh eyes see six months later.
